Joan Vassos Finds Love, Ends Golden Bachelorette with Diamond Ring

Warning: Spoilers from the Nov. 13 Golden Bachelorette finale

Joan Vassos made Bachelor Nation history as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette, and her engagement ring was equally extraordinary. In the season finale, which aired on ABC on Nov. 13, Joan, 61, accepted Chock Chapple’s proposal, complete with a custom Neil Lane Couture diamond ring.

Joan’s ring is a handmade emerald-cut diamond set in platinum, flanked by two tapered baguettes and adorned with 56 round brilliant cut diamonds in Lane’s signature style. Weighing in at a total of 4 carats, the design also showcases Lane’s personal signature, a hallmark of the jeweler’s long-standing relationship with the Bachelor franchise.

“I wanted a ring that truly embodied Joan’s elegance and sophistication,” Lane shared with PEOPLE, adding that the ring’s design drew influence from the timeless Art Deco period. He emphasized the subtlety of the design, intended to harmonize the stones rather than overwhelm with excess.

Chock, Lane noted, felt an instant connection with the ring. “He looked at it and thought of her immediately—it was a moment of pure kismet,” Lane said.

With genuine enthusiasm, Lane wished the couple well. “This ring beautifully reflects Joan’s journey as our first Golden Bachelorette. I hope it brings them joy as they start their new life together.
