Frigid wind may bring rain, snow to Eastern WA, mountain passes.

The Tri-Cities region is set for a wet and windy week, with snow likely on Rattlesnake Mountain and significant snowfall forecast for Washington’s Cascade Mountains, including Snoqualmie Pass. The National Weather Service reports 0.17 inches of rain fell on Sunday, with more rain and gusts of up to 30 mph expected Tuesday night as a warm front moves in.

While the Tri-Cities, at around 400 feet elevation, won’t see snow, areas above 1,000 feet may experience snowfall, particularly on Rattlesnake Mountain, which could receive 2-4 inches by Wednesday morning. Temperatures in the Tri-Cities will range from highs of 48°F to lows in the mid-30s to mid-40s through Saturday, with consistent rain chances.

Strong winds, particularly in Northwest Washington, are forecast, with gusts reaching 60-65 mph along the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the coast. Snoqualmie Pass travelers should expect intermittent snow, with accumulations varying daily, and visibility may be reduced in the Blue Mountains due to blowing snow.

Prepare for changing weather conditions and potential travel disruptions in higher elevations.
