Portuguese authorities are investigating the disappearance of Natalie, a 38-year-old Brazilian nurse. She vanished last Saturday during lunch with her father at the Cacilhas restaurant in Almada, a town near Lisbon, along the Tejo River.
According to O Globo, Natalie and her father, both residents of Coimbra, were celebrating his 69th birthday. At some point during the meal, Natalie never returned to the bathroom. She left behind her backpack, documents, and phone at the restaurant. Her father mentioned that they had a train booked to return to Coimbra after their lunch.
He told the police that, while facing away from the restaurant’s exit, he showed photos of his daughter to nearby diners but got no information about her whereabouts. He also emphasized that Natalie’s behavior in this situation was uncharacteristic of her.
The investigation took a turn when a second phone, belonging to Natalie, was found at a hospital in Lisbon. The device was discovered near a vending machine in the hospital’s waiting area. Her father was unaware that she had a second phone. The police are continuing their efforts to locate Natalie and determine the circumstances surrounding her mysterious disappearance.
