Arbuckle leads Toronto Argonauts to 41-24 Grey Cup victory over Winnipeg.
With Chad Kelly sidelined due to a leg injury, Arbuckle threw two touchdown passes to secure Toronto’s 19th Grey Cup, the most in CFL history. The Argos extended their unbeaten streak against Winnipeg in Grey Cup appearances to 9-0 and claimed their eighth consecutive title since 1991.
Winnipeg, making its fifth straight Grey Cup appearance, suffered its third consecutive loss.
Toronto’s defense dominated, recording three interceptions in the fourth quarter, setting a Grey Cup record with 164 yards returned and a touchdown. The Argos also tied the record for most interceptions in a game with four.
Lirim Hajrullahu’s 14-yard field goal gave Toronto a 27-16 lead, following DaShaun Amos’s 45-yard interception return. Arbuckle added a 17-yard TD pass to Dejon Brissett, increasing the lead to 24-16. Robert Priester’s 61-yard pick-six sealed the win, putting the Argos ahead 34-16.
Ka’Deem Carey’s 4-yard touchdown run extended the lead to 41-16, capping a dominant fourth-quarter performance.
Arbuckle completed 26-of-37 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Winnipeg’s Zach Collaros, the only player to start five consecutive Grey Cups, struggled with 15-of-30 passing, 202 yards, and four interceptions.
Brady Oliveira ran for 84 yards, scoring a touchdown and adding a two-point conversion.
